How to Install TrollStore

The ultimate guide to installing the permasigned app installer on compatible iOS versions.

Prerequisites

  • An iOS device running iOS 14.0 - 17.0 (some versions require specific installation methods).
  • A computer (Mac or Windows) for some installation methods (like Misaka or TrollInstallerX).

1Identify Your Device & Version

TrollStore installation methods depend heavily on your specific iOS version and processor (A11 and below vs A12 and above).

  • iOS 14.0 - 14.8.1: Use TrollInstallerX. This is often the easiest method.
  • iOS 15.0 - 15.4.1: Use TrollInstallerX.
  • iOS 15.5 - 15.7.1: Use TrollInstallerX.
  • iOS 15.7.2 - 16.6.1: Requires specific installation methods, often involving Misaka or PureKFD to overwrite a system app (Tips) with the persistence helper.
  • iOS 17.0: Only possible if you delayed updated specifically to this version while it was signed.

2Common Installation Method (TrollInstallerX)

For many users on iOS 14.0 - 16.6.1, TrollInstallerX is the standard.

  1. Download the TrollInstallerX IPA from GitHub.
  2. Sideload the IPA using Sideloadly or AltStore.
  3. Open the app on your device and tap "Install TrollStore".
  4. Your device may respring. If asked, select an app to replace with the Persistence Helper (usually Tips or Books).

Important Note

If you are on iOS 17.0.1 or higher, TrollStore is NOT supported and likely never will be due to the CoreTrust bug being patched.

3Post-Installation

Once installed, open the TrollStore app. You should see a settings tab.

  1. Go to Settings inside TrollStore.
  2. Tap "Install ldid". This is required for signing apps.
  3. (Optional) Enable "URL Scheme" to open .ipa files directly from Safari.
